DAY 1 - Uluru (Ayers Rocks) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) Trip!

The moment I have been waiting for all semester - my trip during Easter holidays! yay!!!!!!

I have never gotten out of a plane like this before! It was so cool!

We check into our hotel and soon after headed to out on our first adventure which was the Kata Tjuta and Uluru Sunset Tour.

Uluru from the bus! We went to Kata Tjuta first and then back to Uluru for sunset, so bye bye for now!

first view of Kata Tjuta, which before planning this trip, I had no clue of its existence. It's all Uluru Uluru Uluru but this place was pretty cool and very beautiful.

 Kata Tjuta lookout

other side of Kata Tjuta from the lookout. We are heading to the area where we get to walk on a path between the rocks. Very exciting!

starting out on our walk through the rocks...

love what the rain has done to the rocks...

can this be more beautiful?

literally the walking path from H E double hockey sticks! It was really hard to walk on but I did it!

After our lovely time at Kata Tjuta, the bus took us over to Uluru to watch the sunset.
The coolest thing is that Uluru changes colors as the sun goes down. It was so beautiful!

hahahaha squish!

what a great sunset!

A great end to a very nice day :)

AFL Game (April 16th)

AFL is the Australian Football League and is the sport of Australian rules football. It is kind of hard to describe what it's like but I guess the closest sport to compare it to is rugby.  Basically the two teams try to kick the ball through the three sets of goals. The outer two are worth 1 point and the inner one is worth 6 point. This may not be entirely correct but that's what I deducted from watching the game.

We cheered on the Sydney Swans (red) and booed the Geelong Cats (white)!

Also they play on a cricket field... I wish our sports overlapped more, it would save so much money!

and then it started raining!

The Sydney Swans lost, but we had a really great time at the game!
