Random wanderings...

So yay Friday the 15th was the first day of break so my roommate and I decided to celebrate by finally getting out of the apartment and go about town! Also, having someone with me means that I get to be in pictures! yay again!

part of the skyline with Town Hall on the right

back in the Queen Victoria Building...so beautiful

I don't know if all the levels in this building are part of the bookstore, but it would be awesome if they were!
Martin Place. We found a really awesome sandwich shop and eat on the sidewalk surrounded by all the amazing old building. Apparently a section of this square was used in The Matrix films. Wikipedia it!

Heaven! It's the State Library of New South Wales!!!! I so want to go inside. major nerd moment!

I wish I knew what this was... :)

maybe I should have read the plaque... but it is very cool looking.

By the way, we are in the Royal Botanical Gardens now, in the stem that leads to the Opera House opposite of the one that leads to Mrs. Macquarie's Point (featured in one of my earlier posts). So yeah, this garden is HUGE!

 I love this tree!!!

a castle-like building in the middle of the Garden. I think it might have been a meeting center or something. Still...why is it a castle!?!

supposedly lots of German banks in a row...

some very pretty purple flowers

The Government House is pretty awesome looking...

Sun dials are pretty awesome as well

overall the Government House had very nice grounds

really cool looking things in part of the Gardens...

and I thought it was really cute that the kids were playing on them...

...until I read this.

finally! We have reached the Opera House!

This is a very good picture. I am so proud of my camera.

wind blown hair but still a nice picture

Then we went to a bar with a rotating floor, so we got to see a lot of the skyline

The very amusing way they told you which elevator was going up because there were like 12 or so elevators
