the WEEKEND before school

For The Start of Semester Party we went on a harbor cruise! Very exciting :)

going under the Sydney Harbor Bridge!!!
It is truly an amazing piece of architecture.

on our second lap of the harbor, the Opera House was shooting off fireworks (sorry the picture is blurry, I should have taken a video!)

whoop whoop! Our party boat!

I had a wonderful drive with some of my flatmates to go to a market and a really HUGE shopping centre.

driving under the ANZAC Bridge. Not the prettiest thing ever, but the cables look really cool as you are driving past.

left side of the road driving. very impressive! lol

On the way to the shopping centre,
we found out that there was
a kangaroo park on the way.
Did we make a detour to see it? YES!

It is called Central Gardens Nature Reserve. Bigger than I expected and weird because it was like Rose Park (for those of you in Mansfield), but with emus and kangaroos randomly placed throughout.

and with this lovely kangaroo, I will end the post :)

The week before school started...

On Sunday, Feb. 20th, we went to the Mardi Gras Fair Day. Pretty much a Mardi Gras is happening all month long! It was really hot, so we didn't stay long. It took place in Victoria Park which is right by UTS and University of Sydney.

And yes, here is my lunch! From Sunflower (officially my favorite place to eat)!!!! No Asian meal of mine would be complete without a pearl drink :)

and there's my cool Aussie phone!

Then later on we had some random wanderings around Newtown (a suburb by University of Sydney, where lots of student live. Also has lots of awesome restaurants).

I found this bookstore!!!! No corner was empty, that's for sure. I could barely walk while inside that's how crazy it was!
LOVE IT!!!

There on to Haymarket Campus, where the library is... <3

random part of building across the street from the library and there's a parking lot behind it...I find this very odd.

Wednesday, the 23rd was O'Fest Day (all the organizations' sign ups and a big party afterwards) and the International Student Cocktail Party.

The views from the party and O'Fest going on below

Then on Friday we decided to walk around Darling Harbor...

Yay! Olympics stuff!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Olympics if you didn't know! 2000 was a great one too!

This is one of the coolest fountains I've seen! I really want to play in it but the kids always beat me to it :(

It's called something, but I forgot!!!

Big shopping center where we went to eat. I found the Hard Rock Cafe! It's in here! lol

Some of the things you can do in Darling Harbor.

IMAX tickets are $25!!!!!! ahhh!!!

On Saturday, I visited Glebe Markets. A wonderful place (only open on Saturdays) where lots of different vendors set up booths of clothing, books, jewelry, and food. I had a blast looking at everything. Across the street is my favorite bookstore so far - Gleebooks

Then I went to a pearl drink place I hadn't tried yet called Happy Lemon. It was great as well, maybe even better than Easy Way. I got a blueberry smoothie with magic bursts!

What a great week before school starts!
